Poco is preparing to launch the Poco X8 Pro and Poco X8 Pro Max globally, with reports suggesting massive batteries of up to 9000mAh and powerful MediaTek processors

POCO is expected to unveil two new smartphones — the Poco X8 Pro and Poco X8 Pro Max — in the global market on March 17, 2026. The upcoming devices are expected to focus on performance and battery endurance, potentially setting new benchmarks for mid-range smartphones.
Industry reports suggest the two devices may be global rebranded versions of the China-exclusive Redmi Turbo 5 and Redmi Turbo 5 Max from Xiaomi.

The Poco X8 Pro is expected to feature the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Ultra processor, designed for smooth multitasking, gaming and everyday smartphone performance.
The device could come with a 6.59-inch OLED display offering 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate for fluid visuals. In terms of cameras, the smartphone is likely to include a 50MP main sensor using the Sony IMX882, paired with an 8MP ultra-wide lens, while the front camera may feature a 20MP sensor for selfies and video calls.
One of the most notable features of the Poco X8 Pro is its 7,560mAh battery. Despite its large capacity, the device is expected to support 100W fast charging, allowing users to quickly recharge the phone.
Poco X8 Pro Max: bigger display and even larger battery
The higher-end Poco X8 Pro Max is expected to offer a larger 6.83-inch 1.5K display, making it suitable for gaming and multimedia consumption.
Under the hood, the device could be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500s processor, which is expected to deliver improved performance over the Pro variant.
For photography, the smartphone may feature a 50MP primary camera with the Light Hunter 600 sensor, alongside an 8MP ultra-wide camera and a 20MP front camera.
The biggest highlight of the Poco X8 Pro Max is its battery capacity. Reports indicate it could feature an 8,500mAh battery for global markets, while some regional variants may include a battery capacity of up to 9,000mAh — among the largest ever seen in smartphones. Like the Pro variant, the device is also expected to support 100W fast charging.
Expected price and availability
Leaks suggest the Poco X8 Pro Max 5G could be priced around ₹42,000 in India, while the Poco X8 Pro may start at approximately ₹35,000. After launch, both smartphones are expected to be available through Flipkart, which serves as Poco’s official online retail partner in India.
Both smartphones are also expected to run on HyperOS 3 based on Android 16.

Certification listings and leaks suggest the Poco X8 Pro series could debut globally on March 17, 2026. However, Poco and Xiaomi have not yet officially confirmed the specifications or launch schedule.
If the reported features prove accurate, the Poco X8 Pro series could stand out in the mid-range smartphone segment by combining high-performance processors with exceptionally large batteries designed for heavy users and mobile gamers.
