New Delhi: Ola Electric on Friday said it is preparing for a major announcement on January 14, coinciding with the festival of Makar Sankranti, hinting at what it described as an important milestone in India’s energy transition.

The electric vehicle and energy solutions company teased the development through a cryptic post on its social media platforms. “2026 This Makar Sankranti, as the sun's position moves north, we will move to the next chapter of India's energy revolution. More on January 14th. Stay tuned!” the post read.

By aligning the announcement with Makar Sankranti, a festival that marks the sun’s northward journey and is associated with renewal and new beginnings, Ola Electric has signalled that it may be set to unveil a transformative development in the clean energy space.

The reference to “the next chapter” has fuelled speculation about a major expansion or breakthrough aligned with the company’s broader goal of accelerating India’s shift towards sustainable energy solutions.

The Bengaluru-based company said further details would be announced at the event on January 14.
