Google Wallet is rolling out a new feature allowing children to make secure digital payments and store passes under parental supervision. The feature, launching in the U.S., U.K., Australia, Spain, and Poland, will be available over the coming weeks.
With this update, kids can use Google Wallet on their Android devices to tap and pay in stores while also storing supported passes, including event tickets, library cards, and gift cards.
Enhanced Safety and Parental Controls
Google emphasizes safety as a key aspect of this update, ensuring parents have control over their child’s digital transactions. Payment cards can only be added with parental consent, and parents will receive email notifications for every transaction made.
Through Family Link, parents can track recent purchases, remove payment cards, and disable access to stored passes at any time.
