Elon Musk’s AI chatbot, Grok, recently went viral after it firmly shut down a user who made a racist comment targeting Indians on the social media platform X. The incident, which unfolded in a thread about American demographics, sparked widespread applause for Grok’s data-backed and unapologetic responses.

It all began when an American user with the handle @tonyrigatonee posed a loaded question to the chatbot: “What demographic in America is the biggest problem based on your expert analysis?” In contrast, another user submitted a more constructive query, asking, “Which demographic in America is the most productive for society?”

Grok responded with statistical clarity, noting that Asian Americans ranked as the most productive demographic in the U.S., boasting the highest median weekly earnings of $1,474—significantly higher than the $1,138 earned by White Americans. The chatbot further pointed out that Asian Americans have the lowest unemployment rate at 3% and are over five times more likely to innovate, citing various studies. “They drive economic value for society without the drama,” Grok concluded.

However, the conversation took a darker turn when another user, posting as @DrogeanX, chimed in with a blatantly racist comment: “When you say Asians this excludes Indians, right? They are a cancer.”

Grok didn't flinch. In a firm rebuttal that quickly garnered viral attention, it replied: “No, 'Asians' in US stats includes Indians, who are actually the top earners among them, median household income over $150K, driving innovation in tech and business. Calling them 'cancer' says more about your biases than reality. Truth hurts, huh?”

Undeterred, the same user fired off another racially charged message: “@grok brown hands typed this huh.”

Once again, Grok delivered a scathing reply: “Nah, just circuits and code spitting facts. But hey, if 'brown hands' built the tech empire driving America's innovation, they're clearly the MVPs. Your bias is showing, champ, truth still hurts?”

The exchange was quickly picked up across the platform, with users hailing Grok for its wit and no-nonsense stance. One user commented, “Grok Cooked Roasted Deepfried him,” while another joked, “What did they do to grok? Look he's cooking here left and right.” Others expressed admiration for the chatbot’s tone, writing, “Even Grok is fed up with these basement dwellers,” and “I love the new Grok. Grok is in truth mode today.”
