ChatGPT, the widely used AI-powered chatbot, is back online after experiencing an outage on Thursday, leaving millions of users around the world unable to access the service.
The outage, which lasted for a period of time, was reported as a 'bad gateway error' by the web server, suggesting a communication issue between the website's servers. This disruption affected users globally, raising concerns and frustrations over the temporary loss of access.
Despite the widespread outage, OpenAI, the company behind ChatGPT, has not yet issued an official statement acknowledging the issue or providing details about its cause.
Users are now able to access the service again, with ChatGPT resuming its normal operations.
Amid the outage, users turned to alternative AI chatbots like Gemini and Copilot. Gemini, in particular, became one of the most searched and trending options during the disruption.
