New Delhi: State-owned telecom operator BSNL is expected to officially launch its nationwide 4G services this Friday, according to reports. The rollout may take place in the presence of Union Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, as per Zee Business.

The launch marks a major milestone in BSNL’s ongoing efforts to expand its 4G network using indigenous technology and infrastructure. The company aims to complete its full 4G rollout across the country by the end of September.

Last month, BSNL began a soft launch of 4G services in Delhi, using a partner network to offer instant high-speed voice and data to new users. Under this setup, BSNL provided last-mile 4G connectivity through supported devices and SIM cards, giving users seamless access across the capital even before its full rollout.

BSNL's push for 4G expansion is part of a larger plan to reclaim market share and strengthen its position in the competitive telecom sector. It had earlier launched its 4G services with an investment of ₹25,000 crore, and has now committed to invest another ₹47,000 crore to upgrade its network infrastructure.

The company is also working closely with the government to use locally developed equipment, aligning with India’s push for self-reliance in telecom technology.
