On a personal note, the racing icon also shared his emotional reaction to his childhood team, Arsenal, finally clinching the Premier League title.

Montreal: Seven-time Formula One world champion Lewis Hamilton has dismissed public speculation surrounding his future in the sport, pushing back against critics he accused of "trying to retire me" and asserting his intention to remain on the grid for years to come.
The 41-year-old British driver appeared to clarify that his current multi-year contract with Ferrari extends through the 2027 season. His comments came on Thursday ahead of the Canadian Grand Prix, following an inconsistent start to his second year with the Italian outfit.
"I'm still in contract, so everything's 100% clear to me. I'm still focused, I'm still motivated, I still love what I do with all my heart, and I'm going to be here for quite some time, so get used to it," Hamilton said. "There's a lot of people that are trying to retire me, and that's not even on my thoughts. I'm already thinking of what will be next and planning for the next five years. But yeah, I still plan to be here for some time."
Hamilton secured his first podium finish for Ferrari at the Chinese Grand Prix in March, snapping a drought that lasted over a year. Despite that milestone, he currently trails his teammate, Charles Leclerc, in the drivers' championship standings. Hamilton has remained at a record 105 career victories since his final race win with Mercedes in 2024.
Reflections on Arsenal's Premier League Triumph
Beyond the paddock, Hamilton acknowledged becoming emotional earlier in the week when Arsenal, the soccer club he supported during his childhood, captured the English Premier League title to end a 22-year championship drought.
"I think, like for everyone, very emotional. I shed a tear, to be honest," Hamilton said.
When Arsenal last secured the domestic league title in 2004, Hamilton was a 19-year-old racing prospect competing in the Formula Three category.
"We've had so many close moments, and to finally get it was, wow. A lot of emotion came up for me, and as I'm sure for so many people. I'm just so happy and proud of the team," Hamilton added. "The direction they've gone in the past couple of years has been just fantastic, so very inspired by what they've done. Really, really proud of the team. And I think they can go from strength to strength from here and only get stronger."
