Calicut: Calicut emerged as the winners in the opening season of the Super League Kerala, securing a commanding 2-1 victory over Forca Kochi with goals in the 15th and 70th minutes. Thoi Singh and Belfort Kervens Fils were the heroes of the match, netting the goals as Calicut played dominant, attacking the ball throughout the game.

The match kicked off with Forca Kochi on the front foot, but as the game progressed, Calicut began to take control and made their opportunities count.

In the 15th minute, Calicut stunned Forca Kochi with a well-executed goal. John Kennedy, who had received a perfectly timed through ball from midfield, advanced down the left and made a precise pass into the penalty box. Thoi Singh was in the right place at the right time, flicking the ball effortlessly into the net to give Calicut the lead.

Calicut continued to push forward, creating further attacking opportunities. Forca Kochi, under pressure, tried to regroup, and coach Mario Lomos implemented a more defensive strategy, focusing on controlling possession. Despite their best efforts, Kochi struggled to break down Calicut's defence. In the 70th minute, Belfort Kervens Fils sealed the victory with another goal, doubling Calicut’s lead.

Forca Kochi's Dorielton scored a goal in injury time (90+3), making the game more exciting. Calicut's goalkeeper, Vishal Joon, who had played well all match, looked upset as the Brazilian striker's weak shot slipped past him at the near post.
