Kochi: The state school sports meet will be inaugurated Monday evening. However, Pranav Alathur is yet to receive an invitation. Interestingly, Pranav, who embodies determination, is the protagonist of the promotional video prepared by the Education Department ahead of the state school sports meet.

Education Minister V Sivankutty had informed the media that Pranav Alathur would be an honoured guest at the opening ceremony of the first sports meet featuring children from the differently-abled category. The promotional video was also set to be released at the event. It was only when Pranav’s father Balasubramanian was contacted to inquire about his arrival that he revealed Pranav had not yet received an invitation.

Pranav serves as an inspiration to those facing challenges. This young talent has shown his skills in football, painting and swimming, which is why he was chosen as the central figure for the sports meet's promo video.

The video’s theme follows an Arab and his friend admiring a painting in a gallery and searching for the artist. The friends are told that Pranav, after playing football, has gone for a swim. The video concludes with them finding Pranav painting 'Thakkudu', the mascot of the event, on a wall.

Pranav is the son of Balasubramanian and Swarnakumari, residing at Aragettu Parambu in Alathur. He has a brother named Praveen. 

Notably, Pranav had previously met Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan to donate earnings from his artwork sales to the flood relief fund.
