Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana has postponed her wedding after her father was hospitalised, and her fiancé Palash Muchhal also fell ill, prompting the removal of all wedding-related social media posts.

Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana has removed all posts related to her wedding from Instagram, following the hospitalisation of her father, Shrinivas Mandhana.
The wedding, originally scheduled for November 23 in Sangli, Maharashtra, has now been indefinitely postponed.
The couple’s manager confirmed that the postponement was necessary due to Mr Mandhana’s health. Palash Muchhal, Smriti’s fiancé, was also hospitalised recently but has since been discharged. All wedding posts, including the engagement announcement, proposal video, and related reels, have been removed by Smriti, while casual photos with Palash remain on her profile. Her teammates, Jemimah Rodrigues and Shreyanka Patil, have also deleted the announcement video from their social media accounts.
According to her manager, the incident occurred when Mr Mandhana became unwell during breakfast. “We waited for a while, thinking it might be normal, but his condition worsened, and we called an ambulance,” the manager stated. Mr Mandhana is currently under observation, and the family has requested privacy as they focus on his recovery.
Smriti, who is known to be very close to her father, decided that the wedding celebrations should be postponed until his health stabilises. The couple and their families expressed their wish for privacy during this challenging time.
The wedding had been planned as an intimate affair with close family and friends, including several members of India’s Women’s World Cup-winning cricket team. While no new dates have been announced, the focus for now remains on family health and recovery.
Fans and well-wishers have flooded social media with messages of concern and support, sharing comments like “Nazar is real” and “Wishing your family a speedy recovery.”
