India opener Smriti Mandhana’s wedding celebrations began on Friday with a lively Haldi ceremony, where the star batter was joined by several of her Women’s World Cup-winning teammates. Photos and videos of the cricketers dancing to dhol beats quickly went viral on social media.

Mandhana was seen celebrating with Shafali Verma, Richa Ghosh, Shreyanka Patil, Renuka Singh, Shivali Shinde, Radha Yadav and Jemimah Rodrigues — all dressed in bright yellow outfits to complement the Haldi theme. The group danced together, adding to the festive spirit of the occasion.

Mandhana is set to marry composer-filmmaker Palash Muchhal on 23 November.

Shafali Verma shared a video from the event showing Mandhana dancing, captioned: “Ladki Wale.” Other clips circulating online show the teammates enjoying the music and cheering the bride-to-be. Among the attendees were Shivali Shinde, Mandhana’s teammate from the Ratnagiri Jets in the Women’s Maharashtra Premier League, and Shreyanka Patil, her Royal Challengers Bengaluru teammate.

The couple, who reportedly began dating in 2019 and kept their relationship private until this year, have been teasing fans with playful social media posts ahead of their big day. Recently, Palash Muchhal posted a video on Instagram showing him taking Mandhana to the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai, where he went down on one knee and presented her with a diamond ring. Smriti, dressed in a maroon outfit, appeared stunned as she accepted the proposal.

The caption, “She said yes,” accompanied the video, which quickly spread across social media and drew congratulatory messages from cricketers and celebrities alike. Model and actress Natasa Stankovic also expressed her excitement, writing: “Omg omg omg, congratulations you guys.”

Mandhana herself recently released a celebratory video featuring members of India’s Women’s World Cup-winning team, including Jemimah Rodrigues, Radha Yadav and Arundhati Reddy. Rising star Shreyanka Patil also appeared in the clip. The group danced to Samjho Ho Hi Gaya from Lage Raho Munna Bhai, with Mandhana showing off her engagement ring at the end — a moment that left fans delighted.

Palash Muchhal, 30, is a music composer and filmmaker, and the younger brother of noted Bollywood singer Palak Muchhal. The couple’s wedding is expected to take place on 23 November.
