The "divine intervention" seemed to manifest on the pitch as Samson produced a masterclass in aggressive T20 batting.

While Sanju Samson’s bat did the talking during India’s clinical semi-final victory over England, a touching pre-match moment has captured the hearts of cricket fans worldwide.
Before a ball was even bowled, a young mascot standing in front of the Kerala-born star was spotted with her eyes closed and hands clasped in fervent prayer during the national anthems. The image of the young girl praying for her hero has since gone viral, with fans labelling it the "one of the most beautiful sight on the internet."
Clinical at the crease
The "divine intervention" seemed to manifest on the pitch as Samson produced a masterclass in aggressive T20 batting. Despite losing his opening partner, Abhishek Sharma, for just 9, Samson remained undeterred. He survived an early scare on 15 when England captain Harry Brook put down a chance at mid-on off Jofra Archer—a mistake that former champions would rue.
Samson capitalised on the reprieve, reaching a 26-ball half-century by launching Liam Dawson over the ropes. His final tally of 89 runs from 42 deliveries included eight boundaries and seven towering sixes, striking at a formidable 211.90.

Rebuilding the innings
Following the early loss of Sharma, Samson anchored two crucial stands:
- 97 runs for the second wicket with Ishan Kishan (45 balls).
- 43 runs with Shivam Dube to propel India towards a daunting total.
By the time Samson departed in the 14th over, India sat comfortably at 160, eventually setting a target that proved too steep for the English side. Following his heroics in the Super Eight against the West Indies, this latest knock cements Samson’s status as India’s most vital asset heading into Sunday's final against New Zealand.
