Rumours have been circulating for several days now regarding the potential divorce of Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal and dancer-actor Dhanashree Verma. The speculations intensified when both of them unfollowed each other on Instagram towards the end of last year. Chahal also deleted pictures featuring the two of them together, further fuelling the rumours. However, Dhanashree has continued to share images with Chahal, suggesting there may be no truth to the claims.
Sources suggest that as part of the divorce settlement, Chahal may provide Dhanashree with a lump sum of around ₹60 crore as alimony. However, neither of the two has publicly commented on the divorce rumours or the alleged alimony agreement.
Dhanashree had previously addressed the issue, accusing certain anonymous individuals on social media of making baseless claims. She clarified that not everything speculated on social platforms should be taken as truth. In a similar vein, Chahal also shared a post on Instagram last month, urging people not to believe the speculations circulating on social media. He expressed that these rumours were deeply hurting both him and his family.
Chahal and Dhanashree’s relationship blossomed during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. It was through Dhanashree's dance videos on social media that Chahal first took notice of her. He then approached her to learn dance, and what began as a teacher-student relationship eventually blossomed into romance. The couple married later that year.
As divorce rumours continue to swirl, Chahal was recently seen celebrating Christmas with RJ Mahvash and friends, a moment captured and shared on Mahvash's social media accounts. This image sparked further curiosity among their followers, as it came amidst ongoing speculation surrounding their personal life.
At present, both Chahal and Dhanashree remain tight-lipped about the ongoing rumours, leaving fans to wonder about the future of their relationship.
