India’s star shooter Avani Lekhara faced a setback on Sunday as she failed to advance to the finals of the Mixed 10m Air Rifle Prone SH1 event. Alongside Sidhartha Babu, Lekhara’s performance fell short of expectations.

Lekhara finished in 11th place in the standings, while Sidhartha Babu ended up in 28th with a Series 6 score of 105.7.

In the SH1 sport class for pistol shooters, competitors are those with significant movement impairment in the trunk and legs or absence of lower limbs, though all are able to support the rifle’s weight with both arms.

Meanwhile, Manisha Ramadass advanced to the semifinals of the Women’s Singles SU5.
