Thiruvambady: Dr. Sajith Kurian, an orthopaedic surgeon at Dharmagiri St. Joseph's Hospital in Kerala's Kozhikode district is part of the medical team sent to Paris by the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) for the Paralympics.
In addition to his role at Dharmagiri St. Joseph's Hospital, Dr. Kurian serves as a sports consultant at the Malabar Sports Academy in Pullurampara. He is the son of TT Kurian, the academy convener, and Mercy Michael, both of whom are retired teachers.

Dr. Kurian holds a diploma in Sports Medicine from Switzerland. His wife, Dr. Shruthi Jacob, is a radiologist at Kozhikode Cooperative Hospital. The couple has two children, Johan Kurian Sajith and Adam Kurian Sajith.

The nation has several medal opportunities, particularly in para-athletics, where competitors Karam Jyoti and Sakshi Kasana are set to vie for glory in the women's discus throw F55 final.
In addition to the field events, Preethi Pal will also seek a podium finish in the women's 100m T35 final. India's athletes will be busy across various disciplines including shooting, badminton, and cycling on Friday.
