Kevin Durant has etched his name into the NBA record books, becoming just the eighth player in league history to reach the 30,000-point milestone. The Phoenix Suns forward achieved the feat during Tuesday night's game against the Memphis Grizzlies, sinking a free throw late in the third quarter to secure his place among the game's all-time scoring legends.

At 36 years old, Durant joins an elite group that includes LeBron James, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Karl Malone, Kobe Bryant, Michael Jordan, Dirk Nowitzki, and Wilt Chamberlain as the only players to surpass 30,000 career points. 
NBA and ABA legend Julius Erving also achieved the milestone when combining his points from both leagues.

Durant, a four-time NBA scoring champion, continues to prove his dominance in his 17th season. Despite his longevity, he remains one of the league’s most efficient scorers, averaging around 27 points per game while shooting 52% from the field.

This milestone adds another chapter to Durant’s decorated career, which already includes two NBA championships, two Finals MVP awards, an NBA MVP title, and 15 All-Star selections, including his most recent nod for the 2024-25 season.
