Thiruvananthapuram: In an emotional tweet shared on his handle, Malayali footballer and former Kerala Blasters striker C.K. Vineeth expressed his thoughts on the recent riots in Manipur.
Vineeth claims in the tweet that the residences of national players are completely demolished and that their families have sought shelter in the homes of friends.
"The houses of the players who are now on the Indian National Football Team have been entirely destroyed in Manipur. Their families have sought refuge in the homes of friends. Weeks have passed since this. No media is talking about it," he tweeted on Thursday.
"Do they know what is happening? Are they choosing to ignore it? Or have they discussed it & I haven't heard of it. These people are my friends and former teammates. Can they play for the country knowing that their loved ones are secure? Can we ensure that they do have that? Can we create a safe environment for everyone or make them feel safe? Manipur is in tears. Let's listen." he added.
