New Delhi: In the highly anticipated men's javelin throw final at the Olympics, India’s Neeraj Chopra and Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem faced off in a dramatic clash, with Nadeem ultimately coming out on top. While Neeraj secured a silver medal with a throw of 89.45 metres, Nadeem clinched the gold with a 92.97 metre throw on his second attempt.

In India, Neeraj’s achievements were celebrated with great enthusiasm. His village in Panipat, Haryana, was abuzz with joy as residents burst crackers and his family distributed sweets. Neeraj’s father, Satish Kumar, and other relatives praised his performance, but it was his mother, Saroj Devi, who captured hearts with her reaction.

"We are happy with the silver. The one who got the gold (Arshad Nadeem) is also my child," Saroj Devi told the media. Her words, embodying sportsmanship and shared humanity, transcended national boundaries and set a powerful example for future generations.

Saroj Devi's statement has been widely praised by sports fans in both India and Pakistan, reflecting a spirit of brotherhood and camaraderie that bridges geopolitical divides.
