Aman became India’s youngest-ever individual Olympic medallist at the age of 21 in Paris last year.

New Delhi: Indian wrestler Aman Sehrawat has been disqualified from the Wrestling World Championships in Zagreb, Croatia, after exceeding the weight limit by 1.7 kg, delivering a major blow to his campaign on Sunday.
The squad was selected following trials. The Greco-Roman and men’s freestyle trials were conducted in Lucknow, while the women’s bouts were held in Delhi.

Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) President Sanjay Singh, commenting on Sehrawat’s disqualification, said, "We will issue notice to Aman Sehrawat and support staff with immediate effect," he told ANI.
Aman, who last year became India’s youngest-ever individual Olympic medallist at the age of 21 in Paris, secured his place in the men’s 57 kg category by defeating Rahul through technical superiority in the final.
A bronze medallist at the Asian Games and a former Asian champion, Aman made his World Championships debut in 2023, although his campaign ended in the pre-quarterfinals.
Since winning his Olympic medal, Aman has participated in only two international events — earning bronze at the Ulaanbaatar Open in June and taking gold at the Yasar Dogu tournament last month.
