Hyderabad: Two-time Olympic medallist and renowned badminton player P.V. Sindhu is set to marry Venkata Datt Sai, executive director at Posidex Technologies, a Hyderabad-based software company.

Sindhu, aged 29, has been one of India’s most successful sports figures, having secured medals in both the 2016 and 2020 Olympic Games. Her fiancé, Venkata Datt Sai, is from Hyderabad, and the two families have known each other for many years. The marriage was confirmed by Sindhu’s father, P.V. Ramana, a former volleyball player, who shared that the decision was made around a month ago.

The wedding is scheduled to take place in Udaipur, Rajasthan, on December 22, with a second ceremony planned in Hyderabad on December 24.

While Sindhu has not been in her best form recently, she achieved a significant victory by winning the women’s singles title at the Syed Modi International Badminton Championship. Sindhu’s father explained that the wedding was planned during this brief break from her sporting commitments, as she is set to return to intense competition in January.
