The 2026 FIFA World Cup concluded with a historic sweep of individual honours by the champions, Spain, alongside a record-breaking performance from France captain Kylian Mbappé. Following Spain’s 1-0 extra-time victory over Argentina in the final at New York New Jersey Stadium, FIFA confirmed the recipients of its prestigious post-tournament awards.

Golden Ball: Rodri (Spain)

Spanish midfielder Rodri was awarded the Golden Ball as the tournament’s best player. His commanding displays in midfield were pivotal to La Roja’s unbeaten title run, with the Manchester City star leading the competition in successful passes and total touches. The decision stirred debate among fans and pundits, many of whom favoured Argentina’s Lionel Messi, but Rodri’s consistency and control across every fixture secured him the top honour.

Golden Boot: Kylian Mbappé (France)

France captain Kylian Mbappé claimed the Golden Boot for the second consecutive tournament, scoring 10 goals in eight matches. Mbappé secured the award after netting a brace in France’s 6-4 third-place play-off defeat to England. With this feat, Mbappé became the first player in history to win back-to-back World Cup Golden Boots and further extended his record as the all-time leading goalscorer in men’s FIFA World Cup history with 22 career goals.

Golden Glove: Unai Simón (Spain)

Unai Simón was named the winner of the Golden Glove after an exceptional defensive campaign. The Spanish goalkeeper kept seven clean sheets in eight matches—a new record for the most clean sheets by a goalkeeper in a single FIFA World Cup. Simón conceded only one goal throughout the entire tournament, the lowest total ever for a World Cup-winning side.

Best Young Player: Pau Cubarsí (Spain)

Teenage sensation Pau Cubarsí completed Spain’s awards sweep by winning the FIFA Best Young Player Award. The 19-year-old Barcelona defender played a vital role in Spain’s record-setting backline, starting all eight matches. Cubarsí’s composed performances at the heart of the defence solidified his reputation as one of the world's most promising talents, following in the footsteps of previous winners such as Kylian Mbappé and Enzo Fernández.

FIFA Fair Play Award: Netherlands

Finally, the FIFA Fair Play Award was presented to the Netherlands. The Dutch team earned the honour after displaying exemplary discipline, picking up just three yellow cards before their exit in the Round of 32.
