
Bengaluru: Gokulam Kerala FC has created history in the Indian Women’s League (IWL) by becoming champions for the first time.
Gokulam defeated Manipuri club KRYHPSA (Kangchup Road Young Physical & Sports Association) 3-2 at the Karnataka State Football Stadium here on Friday to become the first team from Kerala to lift the trophy.
Prameshwori Devi (2), Kamala Devi (25) and Sabitra Bhandari (86) for Gokulam while Dangmei Grace (33') and Ratanbala Devi (71') scored for KRYHPSA.
Gokulam lifted the trophy by winning all seven games in the entire tournament including the final. From their six games before the final, Gokulam scored 28 goals while conceding just two goals.
