A gallery collapse during a football tournament in Palakkad left several spectators injured. The incident took place at Vallappuzha during the All India Sevens Football Tournament. The collapse occurred around 10:20 PM on Tuesday. Thankfully, the injuries to the spectators are not believed to be serious.
The collapse involved three steps of the gallery, which was constructed using wooden planks. The tournament has been taking place in Vallappuzha for the past month, with the final match scheduled on Tuesday. It is believed that the larger crowd attending the final may have led to the incident.
Both the fire department and local police rushed to the scene to assess the situation and provide assistance.
