Yashasvi Jaiswal was rushed to the hospital on Tuesday after experiencing severe stomach cramps during Mumbai’s Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy clash against Rajasthan in Pune.

Despite battling discomfort throughout the match, the 23-year-old featured in the high-scoring encounter before being admitted to Aditya Birla Hospital with acute gastroenteritis, according to a Times of India report. Jaiswal managed 15 off 16 balls as Mumbai successfully chased down a daunting 217-run target.

According to a post on X by a senior Indian Express journalist, Jaiswal had been suffering from stomach cramps during the game, which intensified after the match. He was taken to Aditya Birla Hospital in Pimpri-Chinchwad, where doctors diagnosed him with acute gastroenteritis.

The report added that Jaiswal’s condition worsened after the match, prompting immediate medical attention. At the hospital, he underwent an ultrasound and CT scans and was placed on medication, with doctors advising him to take adequate rest.

Mumbai, meanwhile, sealed a thrilling three-wicket victory in their Super League Group B fixture, powered by Ajinkya Rahane’s unbeaten 72 and a breathtaking cameo from Sarfaraz Khan, who smashed 73 off just 22 balls.

Rahane’s steady knock off 41 balls laid the foundation, but it was Sarfaraz’s explosive assault — featuring seven sixes and six fours — that turned the chase decisively in Mumbai’s favour. The duo added 111 runs in just 39 balls after Jaiswal departed following a 41-run opening stand.

Mumbai briefly stumbled after Sarfaraz fell to Manav Suthar (4-0-23-3), losing wickets in quick succession. However, Atharva Ankolekar’s rapid 26 off nine balls swung momentum back, allowing Rahane to calmly steer the defending champions home with 11 balls to spare.
