
New Delhi: Following India’s T20 World Cup triumph, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced a cash prize of Rs 125 crore for the Men in Blue. Roger Binny, the President of BCCI, presented the cheque to the team members during the felicitation program in Mumbai.
Let’s take a detailed look at how the prize money will be distributed!
Each player in the 15-member squad will receive Rs 5 crore. This includes the three players who did not feature in any matches during the championship, namely Sanju Samson, Yuzvendra Chahal, and Yashasvi Jaiswal.
Meanwhile, the reserve players, including Shubman Gill, Rinku Singh, Khaleel Ahmed, and Avesh Khan, will each receive Rs 1 crore.
The key coaching staff, comprising head coach Rahul Dravid, batting coach Vikram Rathour, fielding coach T. Dilip, and bowling coach Paras Mhambrey, will each receive Rs 2.5 crore.
Additionally, the five-member senior selection committee, including former Indian speedster Ajit Agarkar, will each receive a fixed sum of Rs 1 crore.
The team’s support staff, which includes three physiotherapists, three throwdown specialists, two massage therapists, and the strength and conditioning coach, will each be awarded Rs 2 crore. The physiotherapists are Kamlesh Jain, Yogesh Parmar, and Tulasi Ram Yuvaraj. The team's three throwdown specialists are Rajiv Divji, Nuwan Seneviratne, and Dayananda Garani. The two massage therapists are Rajiv Kumar and Arun Kande, and the strength and conditioning coach is Soham Desai.
In total, there were 42 individuals in the Indian contingent for the World Cup. Special bonuses will be provided to the video analyst, media officers, BCCI staff members, and the logistics manager who travelled and worked with the team throughout the tournament.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has announced an additional prize money of Rs 11 crore for the World-Cup winning team.
