The wedding of music composer-filmmaker Palash Muchhal and Indian women’s cricket vice-captain Smriti Mandhana, initially touted as one of the biggest sports weddings of the year, has turned into a social media storm. The couple, reportedly set to tie the knot on November 23 in Sangli, Maharashtra, abruptly postponed celebrations due to what both families described as health-related reasons.

However, speculation intensified when fans noticed that Smriti Mandhana deleted all Instagram posts related to the wedding, including her proposal video and engagement announcement. Interestingly, the same posts remain active on Palash Muchhal’s social media accounts, fueling widespread rumors.

Choreographer allegations: Claims of cheating

The controversy escalated after an unverified post claimed that Smriti Mandhana allegedly caught Palash Muchhal cheating with a choreographer named Nandika Dwivedi. According to the post, Nandika was assigned by the Bosco team to train Palash Muchhal for choreography.

According to this viral account, the incident led to a heated confrontation between families, with Smriti Mandhana reportedly witnessing the act firsthand. The post claimed that Smriti’s father suffered a minor heart-related scare during the chaos, while the wedding was called off at the last moment. These details still remain unverified.

Mary D’Costa shares screenshots: Clarification on her role

In a separate thread, Instagram user Mary D’Costa shared screenshots of her alleged chats with Palash Muchhal from April–May 2025, where he reportedly asked her out and avoided clarifying his relationship with Smriti Mandhana. This fueled rumours online, but Mary has now clarified her role.

Mary confirmed she never met Palash Muchhal and was not involved with him romantically. She stressed that she is not the choreographer, countering widespread confusion, and stated she spoke out only after the choreographer controversy became public.

“There's also been a lot of confusion about who I am. I want to clarify, I am not the choreographer, and I am not the person he cheated with. I'm saying this because things are getting mixed up, and I don't want people assuming the wrong things. I also want to say that I follow cricket and I adore Smriti Mandhana. I would never hurt another woman like that, which is part of why I felt the need to be transparent about everything,” Mary said. She also requested that her photos not be shared online, warning about fake accounts impersonating her.

As of now, neither Smriti Mandhana nor Palash Muchhal has publicly addressed the swirling rumours. Reports from family sources confirm that the wedding was postponed due to a medical emergency, but there is no official confirmation regarding the allegations circulating on social media.
