Dubai: Indian player Sajana Sajeevan was on the crease as India secured victory against Pakistan in the Women's T20 World Cup. With just two runs needed from eight balls, captain Harmanpreet Kaur retired hurt. It was then up to Sajana, who arrived at the crease to lead India to victory. With the first ball she faced, she hit a boundary, stylishly completing her mission.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) shared a video capturing that pivotal moment, along with Sajana's return to the pavilion, and another Malayali player in the team, Asha Sobana, coming over to congratulate her. The caption for the reel referred to her as a ‘Mollywood star’.

The video features a dialogue from the recently popular Malayalam film "Adichukeri Vaa" starring actor Riyas Khan. It also includes the song "Va Va Thamarappenne..." in the background. The visuals show Asha Sobana welcoming a smiling Sajana with the dialogue "Adichukeri Vaa." Following that, both players, along with other team members, celebrate their victory, and in the meantime, Sajana also repeats the dialogue.

As Sajana makes her way back, the song "Va va thamarappenne neeyen poonkaralalle, koodekkalikkan vaa..." from the film ‘Karumadikkuttan’ plays in the background.

This is the first time two Malayalis have played in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup.
