Lahore: New Zealand secured a 50-run victory over South Africa in the Champions Trophy semifinal on Wednesday, setting up a final clash against India.

Batting first, New Zealand posted a formidable 362 for six, powered by centuries from Rachin Ravindra and Kane Williamson. In response, South Africa managed 312 for nine in 50 overs despite a century from David Miller.

Ravindra and Williamson anchor New Zealand’s innings
Opting to bat, New Zealand built their innings around Ravindra’s 108 off 101 balls, featuring 13 fours and a six, and Williamson’s 102 off 94 deliveries, which included 10 boundaries and two sixes. Daryl Mitchell (49) and Glenn Phillips (49 not out) provided late acceleration to push the total past 360.

South Africa’s chase falls short
South Africa began well in their pursuit of 363, but a flurry of middle-order wickets derailed their momentum. While Miller remained unbeaten on 100, captain Temba Bavuma (56) and Rassie van der Dussen (69) contributed half-centuries, but their efforts fell short.

Mitchell Santner led New Zealand’s bowling attack with figures of 3 for 43, while Glenn Phillips and Matt Henry picked up two wickets each, sealing the win.
