Thiruvananthapuram: Promising Kerala wicketkeeper-batter Manav Krishna has been named in India's Under-19 Test squad for the upcoming tour of Sri Lanka, marking a major milestone in the young cricketer's career.
India's Under-19 team is scheduled to play three One-Day Internationals and two four-day Test matches during the tour.

The Perurkada native secured his place in the national squad following an outstanding domestic season in which he amassed 592 runs. The youngster impressed with back-to-back centuries in the Cooch Behar Trophy, scoring 189 against Saurashtra and 144 against Hyderabad.
A right-handed batter and wicketkeeper, Manav began his cricket journey in Delhi before relocating to Kerala at the age of 12. He later captained Kerala's Under-16 and Under-19 teams, earning praise for both his leadership qualities and performances on the field.
Expressing his delight at the selection, Manav said representing India had always been his dream.
"I am very happy to get selected for the Under-19 team. It had always been a dream and aim to play for India. I'm confident and, at the same time, nervous and excited," he said.
Manav's rise has been rapid in recent years. One of the youngest players to feature in the 2025 Kerala Cricket League auction, he made his first-class debut for Kerala against Goa in the Ranji Trophy in January 2026. He was also part of Kerala's squad for its tour of Oman.
The talented youngster has received specialised training at the BCCI Centre of Excellence and was honoured with the 'Promising Youngster' award at the NSK Trophy.
His coach, SS Shine, credited Manav's success to his hard work and adaptability across formats.
"He is a hard-working player who can adapt to all types of cricket. He scored heavily in both Under-16 and Under-19 cricket and has developed into an excellent wicketkeeper. He is quick behind the stumps and remains calm on the field," Shine said.
Manav, the son of Unnikrishnan and Anita, trains under Shine in Thiruvananthapuram. His younger brother, Madhav Krishna, is also part of Kerala's Under-19 set-up.
