Mumbai: Kerala's cricket team clinched their sixth consecutive win in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, triumphing over Odisha by 50 runs in a Group B match on Wednesday. This victory allowed Kerala to maintain their top position on the points table.

Kerala showcased their prowess by scoring 183 runs for the loss of four wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Captain Sanju Samson and Varun Nayanar played pivotal roles, with Sanju emerging as the top scorer with 55 runs, including four sixes and fours off 31 balls. Varun contributed 48 runs from 38 balls, laced with nine boundaries. Vishnu Vinod's impressive performance added 35 runs from 33 balls to the total.

In response, Odisha faltered, managing to score only 133 runs in 18.1 overs. Their batting lineup was dismantled by Kerala's bowlers, with Jalaj Saxena taking five wickets for a mere 17 runs in four overs and Shreyas Gopal securing four wickets for 18 runs in 3.1 overs. Thampi claimed the remaining wicket.

Despite Odisha's efforts, with Shubranshu Senapathy scoring 37 runs and contributions from Rajesh Dupar (28) and Captain Govinda Podder (27), they couldn't match Kerala's score.

With this win, Kerala has now won all six games in Group B, accumulating 24 points and securing the leading position. Their next challenge awaits against Assam on 27, where they aim to continue their winning streak in the tournament.
