Ahead of WPL 2026, Delhi Capitals captain Jemimah Rodrigues become the centre of hilarious practice session chatter, not for her celebrations, but for her bat.
A fun video shared by Delhi Capitals has gone viral, where teammates Lizelle Lee, Chinelle Henry and Marizanne Kapp can be seen inspecting Jemimah’s bat and jokingly questioning whether it is “legal” because of the way she has been timing the ball since the Women’s World Cup 2026.
The franchise captioned the clip, “Girls just talking about bats”
“It’s not the bat, it’s me,” laughs Jemimah
In the video, Kapp keeps insisting that “something is illegal here”, while Lee says Jemimah’s bat feels too light. Jemimah bursts into laughter and replies, “I’m telling them it’s not the bat, it’s me.”
To this, Lee quips back that while no one doubts Jemimah’s skill, “the bat is giving a lot of assistance.”
Rodrigues even jokes about gifting her bats to teammates, and later commented under the post, “I wouldn’t be surprised if I don’t find a few of my bats tomorrow.”
The “illegal bat” chatter is all in fun, as teammates pull the skipper’s leg over her red-hot form. Jemimah, who plays for Mumbai in domestic cricket, will be leading Delhi Capitals again this season.
