As per reports, the Indian cricket team has decided not to travel to Pakistan for the upcoming Champions Trophy. The team is expected to play their matches at a neutral venue. According to sources, BCCI has informed the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and other relevant stakeholders of their decision. There are high chances that some of the tournament's matches could be held in Dubai. Discussions are being held reagarding this.

PCB ready to follow 'Hybrid Model'

In an apparent climb down from its earlier stated position, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had expressed its willingness to make "adjustments" in the schedule of the 2025 Champions Trophy. The tournament is likely to be held in the 'Hybrid Model' as the Indian government does not want its its team to travel to Pakistan in the existing socio-political environment.

The last tournament that Pakistan hosted was the Asia Cup in 2023, conducted in a 'Hybrid Model' with India playing their matches in Sri Lanka as the government refused to permit the players' travel across the border.

The International Cricket Council (ICC), on its part, can't force any Board to go against its government policy.
