Dubai: Australia pacer Mitchell Starc has reached the top of the ICC Test bowling rankings for the first time in his career, following his match-winning 10-wicket haul against Bangladesh in MacKay.

The 36-year-old left-arm fast bowler took six wickets for 12 runs in the first innings and four for 39 in the second as Australia secured an innings and 51-run victory in the second Test of their World Test Championship series against Bangladesh.

Starc, who was named both Player of the Match and Player of the Series, has moved ahead of New Zealand's Matt Henry and India's Jasprit Bumrah. He currently leads Bumrah by 10 rating points.

The Australian's previous best ranking was No. 2, a position he first achieved following last year's Boxing Day Test.

Bumrah's latest stint at No. 1 lasted two months. He has, however, spent a combined 697 days as the world's top-ranked Test bowler, the most by an Indian bowler and the 14th-most in the history of the rankings. He is currently sidelined from India's ongoing series against Sri Lanka due to injury.

England pacer Ollie Robinson was another major mover in the latest rankings. His five for 51 and three for 39 against Pakistan helped England register an innings and 103-run win in the first Test at Leeds. Robinson's performance earned him the Player of the Match award and lifted him 15 places to 11th.

England's Josh Tongue, who claimed eight wickets at Headingley, climbed 16 places to 17th.

India's left-arm spinner Manav Suthar made a significant jump after taking 10 wickets in India's 165-run victory over Sri Lanka in the first Test in Galle. He rose 28 places to a career-best 48th.

Sri Lanka's Asitha Fernando and Prabath Jayasuriya each climbed five places to 15th and 16th, respectively.

Australia spinner Nathan Lyon moved up two spots to 10th, while Pakistan's Ali Usman made one of the biggest gains, jumping 30 places to 67th.

Among fast bowlers, England's Jofra Archer rose six places to joint-38th, India's M Prasidh Krishna moved up two places to 53rd and Bangladesh's Shoriful Islam climbed 17 places to 57th.

In the Test batting rankings, England's Harry Brook has extended his lead at the top to 24 rating points over teammate Joe Root. Brook scored 90 while Root made 66, allowing them to retain the first two positions.

India wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant returned to the top 10 for the first time in a year. After scores of 39 and 66, Pant climbed six places to seventh.

Other notable batting gains included Australia's Cameron Green, who rose nine places to 21st, Sri Lanka's Dhananjaya de Silva, who moved up two spots to 22nd, and Sonal Dinusha, who climbed 49 places to 54th.

Pakistan's Abdullah Shafique rose seven places to joint-27th, while India's KL Rahul moved up five places to 30th. Devdutt Padikkal re-entered the rankings at 59th.
