While his 2025 IPL season was less impactful than his award-winning 2024 performance, he remains a valued player

New Delhi: Indian all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy has vehemently denied recent media reports suggesting his departure from the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) franchise after the conclusion of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. Taking to his X handle, Reddy clarified, "I tend to stay away from the noise, but some things deserve clarity. My connection with SRH is built on trust, respect, and years of shared passion. I'll always stand by this team."
SRH had retained Nitish Kumar Reddy for Rs 6 crores ahead of the 2025 mega-auction, making him one of five players kept by the franchise after their run to the IPL 2024 final. While his 2025 IPL season saw him score 182 runs across 13 games, it followed a standout performance in 2024. In the 2024 season, Reddy notched an impressive 303 runs with a strike rate of 142.92 and claimed 3 wickets, hitting crucial half-centuries against the Punjab Kings and Rajasthan Royals, which earned him the prestigious Emerging Player of the Year award.
Reddy was unfortunately ruled out of the remaining two Tests of the ongoing Anderson-Tendulkar trophy against England due to a left knee injury. He had missed the series opener in Leeds but secured a spot in the playing XI for the second and third Tests. His impact in the second Test was minimal, scoring just two runs and bowling six wicketless overs in India's comfortable 336-run victory. However, in the third Test at the 'Home of Cricket', despite India's heartbreaking 22-run defeat, Reddy made vital contributions with the ball, notably dismissing England openers Ben Duckett and Zak Crawley in the same over in the first innings, and then getting Crawley again in the second. With the bat, he contributed 30 and 13 runs.
