Jakarta: A17-year-old Chinese player collapsed on court and later passed away during Asian Junior Badminton Mixed Team Championships in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, badminton officials reported on Monday.

The incident occurred late Sunday during Zhang's match against Japan's Kazuma Kawano. The score was tied at 11-11 in the first game when Zhang suddenly fell to the floor.

Emergency medical personnel responded swiftly, with a doctor and medical team arriving on the scene within minutes. Zhang was transported to a nearby hospital by ambulance but unfortunately could not be revived.

In an unrelated investigation, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) uncovered that candidates seeking to use illegal methods to achieve high scores in the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET-Under Graduate) were instructed to select Jay Jalaram School as their exam center.
