The planned victory parade for India's T20 World Cup-winning cricket team in Mumbai encountered a delay on Thursday afternoon.

The team, arriving in the city after 5:00 pm, missed the scheduled start time due to their late departure from New Delhi.

Earlier in the day, they had met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi before flying to Mumbai from Barbados.

According to the original itinerary, the parade was supposed to begin at 5:00 pm, starting from the National Centre for Performing Arts (NCPA) in Nariman Point and culminating at Wankhede Stadium by 7:00 pm.

Despite the delay, enthusiastic fans swiftly filled the Wankhede Stadium, reminiscent of India's last ODI World Cup victory in 2011, showcasing unwavering support for the triumphant cricket team.

According to recent reports, the 'Vijay Rath' bus intended for Team India, transporting the T20 World Cup champions, encountered obstruction amidst a crowd. Police personnel intervened to disperse the crowd, enabling the bus to proceed to Marine Drive.

Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde has given directions to the Mumbai Police Commissioner to ensure that there is no mismanagement of traffic or inconvenience to the Indian Cricket Fans gathered at Marine drive and Wankhede Stadium.
