New Delhi: The T20 World Cup-winning Indian team landed at New Delhi airport on Thursday morning. Shortly after their landing, BCCI shared a video showcasing skipper Rohit Sharma, star batsman Virat Kohli, and pacer Jasprit Bumrah inside the flight, playfully hinting at the T20 World Cup trophy they had brought back home.
"It's Home," tweets BCCI as the Indian team gets the T20 World Cup trophy out. Only a few moments remain before Rohit Sharma's men venture out of the airport with their prized possession in hand.
Hundreds of fans, holding placards congratulating their favorite players and waving the national flag, braved a steady drizzle to line up outside the Indira Gandhi International Airport to welcome the victorious players. The fans cheered as the players walked out of the airport and headed towards the team bus.
Later today, the team will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi at 9 a.m. before taking part in an open bus victory parade, followed by a felicitation ceremony at the Wankhede Stadium.
