Kozhikode: Mathrubhumi International Festival of Letters (MBIFL)  is setting the stage for its 5th edition (2024), where stalwarts from various fields and walks of life will come together to explore the theme of plurality and beyond. 

An impressive array of personalities like T. Padmanabhan, Paul Zacharia (Zacharia), M Mukundan, K. Satchidanandan, K.G.S, V. Madhusoodanan Nair, Dr K Rajasekharan Nair, S Somanath, Ramesh Chennithala, VD Satheesan, G Sudhakaran, Jude Anthany Joseph, S Sreeshanth, P.R Sreejesh, Sreekumaran Thambi, Ramachandra Guha, Shashi Tharoor, Shan Babu, Manu S Pillai, etc. will mark their presence at MBIFL 2024.

From writers to directors and sportspersons to historians and scientists, MBIFL promises an inclusive experience of indulging in engaging discussions that go beyond the realms of a single defined genre.

Thinkers, writers, and scholars from Malayalam, Indian-English, and other language literatures will come together in this edition of the international festival of letters. 

MBIFL 2024  will be held at Kanakakunnu Palace in Thiruvananthapuram from February 8 to 10. 

Through its theme ’Exploring plurality’, MBIFL 2024 aims to understand diverse perspectives, subcultures, and identities. More than 300  leading writers and thinkers from around the world, bringing with them different realities, challenges, solutions, and perspectives will be part of the four-day event. 

The theme ’Exploring  Plurality’ holds a special significance as we are in a time in which the powerful and other cohesive forces are pushing against diversity and tolerance. The event will also feature luminaries from various walks of life like art, media, spirituality, politics, history, and policy making.

MBIFL 2024 will be packed with engrossing and enriching sessions of solos, dialogues, discussions, and readings of poetry and prose. These will take place at various venues in the Kanakakunnu Palace. The entry to the event is based on registration.  

The early bird offer registration for the 5th edition of South India’s largest cultural festival, Mathrubhumi International Festival of Letters (MBIFL) is now open. The entry fee for the four-day festival (February 8-11) at Kanakakkunnu, Thiruvananthapuram is Rs 1500 for adults. 

With the early bird offer, the registration can be done for Rs 900 per head. The registration price for students is Rs 1000 and this can currently be availed for Rs 600.
