At a discourse on the art of storytelling and its future, prominent Malayalam writers CV Balakrishnan, K Raghunathan, and Ambikasuthan Mangad shared their views on the topic. Journalist and writer C Anoop was the moderator of the session.

CV Balakrishnan said, "Storytelling is the essence of life. People listen to stories and keep spreading the art. Even illiterate people of all ages used to tell stories. As said by an American poet once, 'The world is created with stories and not atoms. In A.K Ramanujan's 'Folk Tales from India', there are stories on stories. Story is the character of the book," he added.

K Raghunathan said that storytelling is the 'third eye' between the writer and the reader which is similar to the narration of events by Sanjayan in Mahabharata. "In all walks of life and every entertainment this storytelling is present," he said.

"We are all made of stories. The narration of events turns into stories. Writers share their concerns and ask questions through stories. Literature is a continuation of life and hence storytelling will continue through time," Ambikasuthan Mangad remarked.

The three writers affirmed that Artificial Intelligence can never replace human story writing and storytelling tradition. A machine or concept cannot replace human emotions and feelings and hence storytelling will go on as long as life does.
