Pathanamthitta: Acting on a complaint filed by the LDF, Pathanamthitta District Collector S Prem Krishnan, also the District Electoral Officer, directed the election squad to hide the name and photos of UDF candidate Anto Antony from the Bus Waiting Centres, constructed using his development funds.

It is also decided to deduct the cost for the same from Anto’s election expense.

The LDF had demanded to conceal the incumbent MP’s name and images from a total of 63 bus waiting centres and 20 4G towers. Meanwhile, the electoral officer dismissed the request of the LDF to let it exhibit the name of its candidate Thomas Isaac as well if Anto’s name cannot be hidden.

The electoral officer had on the other day admonished Isaac for misusing Kudumbashree for his election campaigning following a complaint registered by UDF district chairman Varghese Maman.

However, Thomas Isaac told the media persons that he did not know it was a Kudumbashree meeting called by the Community Development Society, and that the fault was with the party workers who took him there during the campaigning. He also said such a thing would not happen again. 

Following this incident, the LDF leadership also filed a complaint against the UDF candidate which was taken up by the electoral officer.
