Kozhikode: The 61st Kerala State School Kalolsavam features not just art forms. Even unnoticed talents are recognised at the festival. Two students and their teachers from Kasaragod are attracting visitors with their handmade crafts.
Jidhendranath and Kishen Raj, students from the Mar Thoma School for the Deaf, exhibit handmade products made by their classmates at the festival venue.
"They might be treated differently in this world, but they are more capable than an ordinary human being in many fields," one of the teachers, Swapna, said.
Biju, another teacher, exclaimed with pride that children are very interested in many creative and scientific subjects. With support and guidance, they may do more than one could expect. He also noted how, even during the Work Education Fest, they created products and crafts that were outstanding compared to others, he said.
Jidhendranath expressed his excitement and said that he enjoyed engaging in all of these activities. The school's pupils embroidered several decorative pieces and nightgowns for the exhibition.
They arrived full of anticipation and hope, eager to share their works with the world and make a little money as well. They use the money for their personal and educational needs. Beyond the financial gain from such an endeavour, they require more opportunities like this to showcase their talent and establish themselves in the spotlight of the world, a teacher said.
