Lamine Yamal has etched his name into history books with an outstanding performance, tallying four assists after setting up Nico Williams in Spain's final clash against England at Euro Cup 2024.

His feat marks the most assists by any player in a single European tournament since 1980, showcasing his pivotal role in Spain's campaign.

Earlier today, the young Spanish prodigy became the youngest male footballer to play in a major international tournament final as the Spaniard is named in the starting lineup of the EURO 2024 final.

Currently, Yamal is 17 years and 1 day old and has surpassed legendary footballer Pele's record of being the youngest male player to play in a major international tournament final.

In 1958, Pele featured in the World Cup final, when Brazil beat Sweden 5-2 in Stockholm to get hold of the prestigious trophy. He scored two goals in that final against Sweden.

Meanwhile, Spain has rewritten history in the Men’s European Championships by scoring a record-breaking 14 goals in the 2024 edition. This achievement places Spain on par with France, who also scored 14 goals in 1984, and joins several other teams that have scored 13 goals in various editions of the tournament.

Spain confirmed their spot in the final in the tournament after beating France 2-1 in the first semi-final match. Meanwhile, England beat Netherlands 1-2 in the second semi-final match with the help of Ollie Watkins' late goal.
