Numerous interesting videos appear in our feed while surfing on social media. One such heartwarming video capturing a moment of deep affection between a woman and an elephant has gone viral, touching the hearts of viewers around the world.

The video was shared by Lek Chailert, the founder of the Save Elephant Foundation, and features her gently singing to an elephant named Faa Mai. As Chailert sings, Faa Mai responds with a tender gesture, wrapping her trunk lovingly around Chailert and refusing to let her walk away.

Music soothes the gentle giants

In the caption she wrote, “Every afternoon is a time for relaxation.

Herds of elephants gather under the shade of the trees, and it becomes my moment to spend quiet time with them."

She further added, “One of their favorite things when standing together is listening to me sing. Especially Faa Mai—when she’s happy and enjoying the music, she won’t let me walk away. She always finds a way to keep me standing there, singing her favorite song until the very end.”

She concluded her post by saying, “Song not only brings joy to elephants, but it also helps soften their hearts and makes them even more gentle.”

Elephant Nature Park

According to the Park’s website, Lek Chailert established Elephant Nature Park in Northern Thailand in 2003 after she started rescuing injured, neglected, and elderly elephants in the 1990s. Her passion for elephants began at an early age when her grandfather, a traditional healer, was gifted an elephant named Thong Kham, which Lek grew to love and care for deeply. After witnessing the mistreatment and suffering of many elephants in the tourism industry, Lek began providing medical aid to elephants in remote villages.

Their touching interaction highlights the emotional depth of elephants and the powerful impact of kindness and music in their lives. It also showcases the extraordinary bond that can develop between humans and animals.
