A viral video claiming to show the capture of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro was found to be AI-generated and misleading.

Several social media users shared a video claiming it showed Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and his wife Cilia Flores being captured during a US-led military strike in Venezuela. The video quickly gained traction online, with many presenting it as real footage.
However, an investigation by the PTI Fact Check Desk found that the video was AI-generated and falsely circulated to mislead viewers. Visual inconsistencies and digital artefacts confirmed that the clip was not authentic and had no connection to any real military operation.
The circulating video claiming to show the capture of President Maduro and his wife is not authentic, and no official footage of the incident has been released.
