Chabahar: In a major escalation of regional tensions, the United States executed a fresh round of military strikes targeting Iran's southeastern port city of Chabahar. This marks the second consecutive day of direct military exchanges between the two nations after US President Donald Trump declared that the previous truce was officially "over”.

Multiple detonations reverberated across Chabahar, with Iranian state television confirming that the bombardments caused extensive power outages in several sectors of the city. Local inhabitants reported hearing successive blasts as emergency personnel rushed to the impacted areas.

This operation represents the first time the US military has targeted this critical deep-water oceanic port since a ceasefire agreement was established in April, hugely broadening the geographical boundaries of the current conflict.

According to US Central Command (CENTCOM), the targeted operations are aimed at diminishing the capabilities of Iranian forces to disrupt international shipping and threaten the freedom of navigation in critical waterways.

President Trump, speaking from the NATO summit, added a stern warning on social media, noting that the strikes were in response to Iranian aggression against commercial vessels, warning that if such actions continue, "it will get much worse”.
