Washington: President Donald Trump set a new record for the longest State of the Union address, speaking for more than one hour and 41 minutes.

During his 2026 address to a joint session of Congress, Trump made sweeping claims about his administration’s foreign policy achievements, including averting a potential nuclear conflict between India and Pakistan. He suggested that Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif might not have survived without US involvement.

“In my first 10 months, I ended eight wars… Pakistan and India would have had a nuclear war. 35 million people said the Prime Minister of Pakistan would have died if it were not for my involvement,” Trump said.

He reiterated that his administration had helped halt multiple global conflicts, citing the four-day military confrontation between India and Pakistan in May last year as a key example.
