New York: US President Donald Trump claimed Tuesday that India and Pakistan "were going at it" and he resolved the conflict between the nuclear-armed neighbours, reiterating the assertion for nearly the 70th time.

“In 10 months, I ended eight wars, including Kosovo (and) Serbia, Pakistan and India, they were going at it. Israel and Iran, Egypt and Ethiopia.… Armenia and Azerbaijan,” Trump told supporters at a Pennsylvania rally on the economy in Mount Pocono.

India launched Operation Sindoor on May 7 against terror sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir following the April 22 Pahalgam attack that killed 26 civilians. The nations agreed to halt four days of drone and missile exchanges on May 10, with India denying any third-party role.

Trump added that Cambodia and Thailand restarted fighting, vowing a phone call on Wednesday to intervene. “Who else could say I'm going to make a phone call and stop a war of two very powerful countries, Thailand and Cambodia. They are going at it. But I’ll do it. So we're making peace through strength. That's what we're doing.”

On immigration, Trump hailed "reverse migration" for the first time in 50 years, boosting jobs, wages, and incomes for citizens over "illegal aliens." He announced a permanent pause on “Third World migration” from "hellholes" like Afghanistan, Haiti, and Somalia, questioning, “…Why can't we have some people from Norway, Sweden, just a few. Let's have a few from Denmark... But we always take people from Somalia, places that are a disaster, right? Filthy, dirty, disgusting, ridden with crime.”

Last month, Trump pledged to halt migration from such nations and deport security risks after an Afghan national killed a National Guard member. US Citizenship and Immigration Services now weighs “negative, country-specific factors” from 19 high-risk countries: Afghanistan, Burma, Burundi, Chad, Republic of the Congo, Cuba, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Haiti, Iran, Laos, Libya, Sierra Leone, Somalia, Sudan, Togo, Turkmenistan, Venezuela, and Yemen, mirroring his June travel ban proclamation.
