In a prime-time year-end address, US President Donald Trump claimed his administration ended eight wars, tightened immigration, and reversed migration trends within a year of returning to office.

US President Donald Trump once again claimed credit for ending multiple global conflicts and tightening immigration controls as he laid out what he described as the key achievements of his second term during a year-end prime-time address to the nation on Wednesday.
Opening his 19-minute speech, Trump said he had “inherited a mess” and spent the past year restoring American strength. He asserted that his administration had settled eight wars within 10 months, eliminated what he called the Iranian nuclear threat, and brought an end to the war in Gaza, claiming this ushered in “peace to the Middle East for the first time in 3,000 years.”
Although Trump did not specify the conflicts, he has repeatedly claimed credit over the past year for easing tensions or ending hostilities between India and Pakistan, Armenia and Azerbaijan, Kosovo and Serbia, Israel and Iran, Thailand and Cambodia, Egypt and Ethiopia, and Rwanda and Congo.
Highlighting domestic policy, Trump pointed to what he described as major successes on immigration, tariffs, job creation, and border security. He said his administration had reversed migration trends, reduced inflationary pressure, and generated billions of dollars through tariffs while prioritising jobs for American-born citizens.
Trump sharply criticised the previous Biden administration, blaming it for what he called a “colossal border invasion” that drove up housing costs and strained public services. He claimed millions of migrants were given taxpayer-funded housing, healthcare, and education, while Americans faced soaring rents and job competition.
For the first time in decades, Trump said the US is witnessing “reverse migration,” with migrants leaving the country. He further claimed that since returning to office, 100 per cent of net job creation has gone to American-born citizens.
