Three Sindh Rangers personnel and three militants were killed after attackers stormed a Rangers headquarters in Karachi's Gulistan-i-Jauhar area, with Jamaat-ul-Ahrar claiming responsibility for the assault.

Three Sindh Rangers personnel were killed after militants stormed a paramilitary headquarters in Pakistan's Karachi on Saturday, triggering a major security operation that ended with all three attackers being killed.
The attack targeted the Sindh Rangers' local headquarters in Karachi's Gulistan-i-Jauhar area, where militants rammed a vehicle into the compound's main gate before launching an assault, according to Pakistani authorities.
Sindh Inspector General of Police Javed Alam Odho said security forces responded swiftly to the attack and launched a clearance operation in the area. Officials were initially trying to determine whether the militants had also used explosives during the breach.
The gunfight left three Rangers personnel dead, while all three attackers were neutralised during the operation. Security agencies later sealed off the area as a "mopping-up operation" continued to ensure there were no remaining threats.
Elite commandos from the Special Security Unit (SSU), personnel from the Anti-Terrorist Force (ATF), and Rangers troops were deployed to secure the neighbourhood and assist with the operation.
One paramilitary trooper who sustained gunshot injuries to his leg was shifted to hospital for treatment, according to officials.
Residents reported hearing heavy gunfire and an explosion as the attack unfolded, prompting a large-scale response from law enforcement and emergency services. Rescue 1122 Sindh said it dispatched teams to the scene after receiving reports of an explosion near Gulistan-i-Jauhar's Block 5 area.
Late on Saturday, Al Jazeera reported, Jamaat-ul-Ahrar, a faction linked to the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), claimed responsibility for the assault. The group alleged that nine attackers had participated in the operation, although authorities had not independently confirmed the claim.
The attack comes amid continuing security concerns in Pakistan, where militant groups have increasingly targeted security personnel and government installations in recent years.
Earlier this year, Pakistan witnessed another major security incident when a suicide bombing struck an Imambargah in Islamabad's Tarlai area during Friday prayers. According to Pakistani media reports, at least 31 people were killed and 169 others injured in the attack.
