Bangladesh's ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina's plane, has gone back to Bangladesh. The C-130J transport of the Bangladesh Air Force took off from the Hindon air base in the morning today around 9 AM and is moving towards its next destination. Sources say Indian security agencies are monitoring it closely.

Sheikh Hasina arrived in India on Monday evening after tendering her resignation in the wake of mounting protests in Dhaka. She resigned from her position after more than a month of deadly anti-government protests. Army Chief General Waker-Us-Zaman has announced plans to establish an interim government.

Reports indicate that the 76-year-old leader departed in a Bangladesh military aircraft accompanied by her sister.

The Bangladesh Air Force plane crossed Patna and was tracked near the Uttar Pradesh-Bihar border. Sources said that top security brass is monitoring the situation very closely and "all radars are active and keeping a close watch on them."

Meanwhile, protests and celebrations were reported from Dhaka with some protestors cheering the news of the resignation of Sheikh Hasina.

Local Bangladesh media outlet Prothom Alo reported that protesters also set fire to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Memorial Museum at 32 Dhanmondi.
